Kaduna South Launches Security Outreach, Directs Day-and-Night Patrol Operations

Published on February 9, 2026

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, has personally directed the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS), in close collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, to conduct a series of community outreach and sensitisation activities across selected areas within the council — a proactive security measure ahead of the Ramadan period.

The outreach exercise served a threefold purpose: to gather direct feedback from residents on the current state of security within their communities, to identify black-spots and areas of concern that require targeted attention, and to lay the groundwork for a robust, round-the-clock patrol operation throughout the Ramadan season. The intelligence and insights gathered during the community engagements will directly inform the deployment strategy and focus areas of the patrol teams.

In designing this approach, Hon. Rayyan Hussain drew on the proven framework applied during the recent Christmas and New Year celebrations — a period that passed with commendable peace and security across the council area. By building on that effective mechanism and adapting it to the specific dynamics of Ramadan, the administration aims to ensure that the sacred season is observed in an atmosphere of safety, calm, and communal harmony.

The initiative is firmly aligned with the SUSTAIN Agenda of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON, which places strong and consistent emphasis on improving security and safeguarding the lives and property of every citizen across Kaduna State. Hon. Rayyan Hussain reaffirmed that security is not a seasonal concern but a continuous priority, and that the council's partnership with KADVS, the Nigeria Police Force, and all relevant stakeholders reflects a long-term commitment to preventive security, community trust, and lasting peace in every ward.

Members of the public are strongly encouraged to play their part by reporting suspicious activities promptly through established channels. The Executive Chairman reminded residents that timely information from the community is one of the most powerful tools available to security agencies, and that such cooperation saves lives — particularly during periods of heightened social and religious gatherings such as Ramadan.
