Kaduna South Distributes Ramadan Palliatives to Over 3,000 Residents Across All Wards

Published on February 22, 2026

The Kaduna South Local Government Council distributed Ramadan palliatives to over 3,000 residents drawn from every ward within the council area, in a relief exercise held at the Local Government Secretariat. The initiative, directed by Executive Chairman Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, was designed to ease the burden on families during the sacred fasting month and allow them to focus fully on worship, reflection, and togetherness.

Deliberate care was taken to ensure that the distribution process remained inclusive and reached communities across the entire breadth of Kaduna South, with no ward left behind. The relief items were made available to residents regardless of background, reflecting the council's belief that acts of communal support during Ramadan must be universal in their reach and sincere in their intent.

Hon. Rayyan Hussain expressed that the gesture goes beyond the material value of the relief items. At its core, it is a statement of solidarity — an affirmation that the council sees and acknowledges the pressures faced by ordinary families, and that it will use every available avenue to ease those pressures, particularly during a period as spiritually significant as Ramadan.

The Executive Chairman used the occasion to issue a call to action to stakeholders, wealthy individuals, and compassionate members of the community, urging them to follow this example of giving during the blessed month. He reminded residents that small acts of generosity carry enormous weight during Ramadan, multiplying blessings for the giver while strengthening the bonds of unity that hold communities together.

Hon. Rayyan Hussain reaffirmed his vision of a Kaduna South where compassion flows freely, where neighbours look out for one another, and where no family goes hungry in times of need — a vision that the council will continue to pursue through initiatives that place the welfare of the people at the very centre of governance.
