Hon. Rayyan Hussain Attends Qur'an Memorisation Certificate Ceremony, Pledges Scholarships for Outstanding Participants

Published on February 23, 2026

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, attended a certificate issuance ceremony honouring 180 young people who have successfully memorised the complete Holy Qur'an — an event that left a profound impression on the Executive Chairman and reaffirmed his administration's deep commitment to supporting both Islamic and secular education within the council area.

The ceremony was a testament to the extraordinary dedication of the young participants, but one moment stood out above all others. Among those receiving their certificates was a 10-year-old boy who had memorised the entire Holy Qur'an — an achievement that moved Hon. Rayyan Hussain deeply and drew admiration from all in attendance. The young scholar's accomplishment, alongside the collective discipline and talent displayed by all 180 participants, filled the Executive Chairman with immense pride and renewed optimism for the future of Kaduna South.

Hon. Rayyan Hussain was keen to note that these young scholars represent far more than academic achievement. Their dedication to memorising the word of Allah in its entirety speaks to qualities of discipline, focus, and spiritual commitment that are the hallmarks of outstanding character — qualities that will serve them, their families, and their communities throughout their lives.

Addressing the organisers and participants, the Executive Chairman gave his full assurance of the council's unwavering support for education in all its forms. He announced that the council will work closely with the organising committee to identify the most outstanding participants and provide them with scholarships for advanced Islamic studies abroad, offering these young scholars the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and return as beacons of learning and service to their communities.

The Kaduna South Local Government Council remains firmly committed to nurturing talent and investing in the next generation — recognising that a community's greatest asset is not its infrastructure but the calibre, character, and knowledge of its people.
