Hon. Rayyan Hussain Hosts 200 Young Huffaz at Iftar, Pledges Continued Support for Faith-Based Education

Published on March 1, 2026

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, hosted approximately 200 young Huffaz — those who have completed the memorisation of the Holy Qur'an — at an Iftar gathering, bringing together these remarkable young scholars alongside traditional leaders in a celebration of their extraordinary dedication and discipline.

The event was a moment of deep communal pride, with the Executive Chairman and traditional leaders alike expressing admiration for the commitment these young men and women have demonstrated in achieving one of the most revered accomplishments in Islamic scholarship. Memorising the complete Qur'an demands years of sustained effort, focus, and devotion, and Hon. Rayyan Hussain made clear that such achievement deserves recognition and active institutional support.

Beyond the celebration, the gathering carried a firm pledge. Hon. Rayyan Hussain assured the young Huffaz of the council's continuous support for their educational journey, both within Nigeria and at the international level. He underscored the council's conviction that investing in faith-based scholarship is not separate from community development but is in fact central to it — nurturing the moral, spiritual, and intellectual foundations upon which strong and resilient communities are built.

The Executive Chairman also used the occasion to encourage the young scholars to pray for His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON, whose leadership and commitment to transforming Kaduna State continues to create the enabling environment within which local governance initiatives such as this can thrive.

Hon. Rayyan Hussain reaffirmed that the Kaduna South Local Government Council will continue to champion both faith-based and secular education side by side, recognising that the two are complementary pathways toward raising a generation that is strong in character, grounded in knowledge, and dedicated to service — to Allah and to humanity.
