The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, has directed the distribution of a comprehensive package of medical equipment provided by His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON, as part of the Governor's SUSTAIN vision to revitalise healthcare service delivery at the grassroots level across Kaduna State.

The equipment package is wide-ranging and impactful, covering modern medical devices, essential medicines, Solar Direct Drive (SDD) systems, and ambulances equipped with advanced life support capabilities. The distribution targets 255 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) spread across all wards in Kaduna State, with deliberate emphasis on maternal and child health, minor surgical procedures, and improved consultation services — areas where the gap between need and access has historically been most pronounced.

For Kaduna South, the arrival of this equipment represents a significant boost to an already active healthcare agenda. The council has in recent times recorded considerable progress in the health sector, including the rehabilitation and solar-powering of PHCs, a 70 percent subsidy on patient bills, the provision of free Mama Kits for expectant mothers, nutrition support programmes, and strategic partnerships facilitating access to surgeries and drug abuse rehabilitation services. The new equipment integrates seamlessly into these existing initiatives, deepening their reach and effectiveness.

This distribution marks the second phase of medical equipment deployment under Governor Uba Sani's administration, complementing the ongoing renovation of nine general hospitals across the state. Together, these interventions reflect a coherent and sustained strategy to make quality healthcare more accessible, more affordable, and more responsive to the needs of ordinary families — not just in urban centres, but in the most remote communities.

Hon. Rayyan Hussain commended Governor Uba Sani for translating vision into concrete action, noting that initiatives of this nature demonstrate what purposeful governance looks like when the welfare of the people remains the central priority. The Kaduna South Local Government Council will ensure that the equipment is deployed effectively and that residents in every ward benefit fully from this investment in their health and wellbeing.
